I grew up in this house from the time I was seven years old. I am now 63 and will be selling my mother's house. I will tell you everything I know about the house and the neighborhood, which is quite a bit. First, the house.
This is a one of a kind tile roof, Spanish style house. It was a three bedroom house when I lived there, my mom converting it to two bedrooms after we kids left. The house could easily be converted back into three bedrooms, if desired. Over the years, my mom kept making improvements to the house until it has become a showpiece. If you choose to walk through it, you will see what I mean. It is now over 2500 square feet of living space with large living room (with fireplace) and expansive dining room (2 skylights) and a huge family room (3 skylights). The kitchen is also large and airy, as is the master bedroom. The front yard isstriking and beautiful. The back patio is spacious, low maintenance, and this and the family room are where, in her younger years, my mom entertained large gatherings of friends. The roof and furnace are relatively new and the house has been, for the most part, well maintained over the years. One could also build up on the existing house if so desired and have a great view. I have probably forgotten a lot, but this should give you a feel for the property.
The area is one of the nicest in San Diego. Point Loma is a great area. In many ways I like it better than La Jolla (huge traffic problems), where I ve spent a lot of time or Rancho Santa Fe (not real neighborly), where we lived for 10 years. The wide street has little traffic even though it is almost a straight shot to the ocean or San Diego bay and 8-10 minutes from the airport or downtown. The schools are great from K-12 and all within walking distance. We walked to school. We are about a mile from both Ocean Beach and Sunset Cliffs, places of beauty and character where we grew up surfing, diving and enjoying the small town beach community atmosphere. Neighbors keep an eyeout for each other and they throw a block party once a year for all the neighbors on the block. Almost everyone shows up.
We re selling the house ourselves, no agent. We ll pay a 2.5%commission to your agent, if you are using an agent. If you or your agent have questions about the property or you would like to look at the house, call me anytime. Please, no seller s agents looking for a listing. Please, qualified buyers only.
Respectfully,
David Dibble
