LOCATED RIGHT ON THE HISTORICAL LEWIS & CLARK TRAIL. You can look out the many windows of the house and just imagine Lewis & Clark and crew coming up the channel on July 3, 1804. They camped just around the bend the night of July 3d. A reliable source said Bean Lake is the only original part of the trail tht still has water in the channel.
This is a gorgeous one acre lake front lot with huge trees and a lake perfect for boating, duck hunting and fishing. A neighbor reports he has caught crappie, catfish and carp from his front yard this spring.
This is a beautiful one and one/half story house that was completely rebuilt after a fire in 1986. It has a huge living room with high ceiling and a Buck woodstove on stone with fireplace look. It has a hot tub room with 5/6 man hot tub and windows on two sides, a sun room, 6-panel interior doors, beautiful cherry stained stairway to the two upstairs bedrooms and bath. There are dormers in upstairs bedrooms with plenty of storage space. All woodwork, doors and custom kitchen cabinets are cherry-stained. The kitchen has a center island and patio doors on the dining area. It has a central vac system and the washer/dryer area in located on the main floor. There are lots of windows for viewing the lake and the variety of ducks, geese, pelicans, eagles and birds that migrate with the seasons. We have seen six eagles at one time in our huge cottonwood tree on the lakeside in the winter time.
The house also has a full basement and big decks on front and lakeside of house, plus a covered porch on front. Also, on the lakeside, there is a large 6 ft high chain-link fenced pen with under-house rooms for dogs. The attached 2-car garage has separate heat pump/AC, and 220 plug-in for a welder, plus there is a detached 2 car garage. Both garages have Craftsman overhead doors with keyless entry.
The central heating/AC system is a Lennox Pulse system using propane. We have the 500 gallon propane tank filled in August and by using the Buck stove and burning wood, we still have propane left this spring. The kitchen range is electric.
The house is elevated and flood insurance is normally required by the finance company who has the mortgage. The yard is fenced on the South and East for more privacy. To the North there are 4 lots that belong to Platte County and these are leased for $12.00 for three years. These lots must be used for garden purposes only.
