Pleasant Ridge is a small bedroom community of Detroit, and residents here enjoy the quiet life imposed by local city government while at the same time have access to shopping, restaurants and local entertainment of Royal Oak and Ferndale within ½ mile. There are two post offices within 1.5 miles, two libraries, three live theatres, numerous upscale grocers, and boutique shopping for clothing and home furnishings.
