    Thanks for your interest in our home.  If you enjoy the homes of yesterday but still want the amenities of today then look no further.  Here you'll find a home that is very well kept and maintained with many new updates.  To the best of our knowledge it was built in 1914 and the has a unique Dutch Colonial style.  The builders obviously used great craftsmanship as the home has lasted almost 100 years, and structurally shows no signs of stopping.  "They don't make em' like they used to".
    Updates to the house include a newly redone front porch that is great for family time.  White vinyl siding was added 12 years ago to the 1st and 2nd floors, while the historic rock foundation covers the visible walk out basement.  Inside the house includes original doors, trim, and brand new insulated windows throughout the home.  The floors are made up of partially new hardwood, original hardwood, ceramic tile in one bathroom, carpeted steps/hallway, and vinyl in the kitchen and remaining bathrooms.  Window coverings include new plantation blinds on the main level with curtains throughout the upstairs.    
    Other updates include a new 200 amp circuit box with new wiring.  There's still some original wiring upstairs, but it has been inspected and approved to be in great working condition.  New lighting fixtures and ceiling fans are down stairs with several new fixtures upstairs as well.  All new water lines, drainage pipes, a 1 year old hot water heater, a 3-5 year dishwasher, 3-5 year garbage disposal, 1-5 year forced gas heater and air conditioning unit that heat and cool the house great make up other updated items.  Most walls are the original plaster.  The downstairs walls are all refinished to great new-like condition.  The downstairs ceilings are drywall while upstairs is the original plaster.  Their is blown in insulation in the attic and walls that helps control utility expenses.
    Other details include original pocket doors separating the two living rooms downstairs.  A claw foot tub with shower unit installed upstairs.  A fire place that is open and ready for a gas insert or wood stove.  The roof is roughly 10-12 years old and will last many more hard rains.  The City of Arcadia provides a great water, sewer, and trash system that provides a well working city sewage and great drinking water, while holding a great rate of just $20 a month.  An original stone wall surrounds the terraced property that has a some spots to repair.  There are many very nice shade trees that give great privacy.  The home is around other historic homes, in a quite neighborhood, and with great neighbors.  Located near the intersection of  Hwy's 72 & 21 you're in walking distance to restaurants, gas stations, a grocery store, and more.  One look and it's sure to be love at first site!  Give us a call if you have any questions or you'd like to take a tour.  We'll be hosting an open house on June 29 from 2:00-6:00pm & June 30 from 5:30-8:00 pm.
