is a town in St. Clair County, Alabama, United States part of the Birmingham-Hoover-Cullman Combined Statistical Area. Its population was 2,260 at the 2000 census, at which time it was a town. This town is the county seat of St. Clair County along with Pell City. According to the 2005 U.S. Census estimates, the city had a population of 2,429.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town had a total area of 19.4 square miles (50.3 km²), of which, 19.3 square miles (50.1 km²) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.2 km²) of it (0.46%) is water.
