This is a WOW! house. It was originally built in the 40's, then added on to in 1996, and remodeled. The remodel saw the original 40's house and garage dissappear, as they were incorporated into the new structure. The remodel was never quite finished, as in trim and framing of the master bath, but was lived in from 1996 to 2006. We acquired the house in 2008 from the bank, and set out to create what you see here.
On the exterior, we replaced and repaired the damaged siding and decking boards. We replaced all of the decking handrails. We cleaned and re-directed the guttering, replaced some damaged shingles and power washed all of the decking. We trimmed and removed trees, as well as brought in new limestone gravel for the driveway. The exterior doors got a fresh coat of navy, and all of the door locks were keyed the same. Electric was brought to the covered deck portion and a new indoor/outdoor ceiling fan/light was installed.
The interior got new windows in the three, large, rear bedrooms. All of the bedrooms and hallway got new padding and carpet. The living room, hardwood floors were sanded and refinished. The reamining kitchen, dining, and bath rooms received new ceramic tile. The rear three bedrooms have built in computer desks, and two of the three have built in drawers with the closets. The rear bath is large and has a new vanity, counter-top, sink and toilet. All of the lighting fixtures are new, with high-effeciency flourescent bulbs.
The dining room has two custom, glass-block windows which flood light into the hallway. They are trimmed in oak and finished to match the kitchen cabinets. The kitchen boasts new counters tops, with an awesome pass-thru and bar into the living area. All of the appliances are energy effecient, new, stainless steel, and convey with the property.
The living room is spacious, and has recessed lighting with a bay window. The entry into the living room from the front of the house is ceramic tile. The master bedroom is spacious as well, and has a bay window also. The master bath has a custom, tile shower, and "his and her", furniture style, vanities. It has ample lighting and there is a walk-in closet off of the bath. The living and master bdrm areas feature arched openings with bull-nosed finished edges. All of the fixtures in the master bath are new, except the tub.
The house has a fifty gallon, natural gas hot, water heater. The heat pump is a brand new, 5-ton unit, all electric. There is approx. a 350 sq.ft. bonus room adjoining the covered deck, which was originally constructed and electrified to be a craft, wood shop. It is painted, and well lighted and would be perfect for an office, play room, or media room. The new owner gets to define the space and enjoy.
The house is on city water and a septic system. The rear portion of the lot is fenced, and was most recently home to a horse. On the rear of the bonus room is a shed with four sets of doors, perfect for lawn equipment and storing hay / feed.
