(pop. 11,000) is a city in Shasta County, California, USA, approximately 10 miles south of Redding. The population was 9,022 at the 2000 census. As of 2007, the population is 10,580.
The city was for ranch owner Elias Anderson who granted the Oregon and California Railroad trackage rights and land for a station.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 6.6 square miles (17.0 km²), of which, 6.4 square miles (16.5 km²) of it is land and 0.2 square miles (0.4 km²) of it (2.44%) is water.
