New Milford is a town in Litchfield County, Connecticut, United States north of Danbury, on the Housatonic River. It is the largest town in the state in terms of land area at nearly . The population was 28,671 according to the Census Bureau's 2006 estimates.

New Milford is home to the Canterbury School, a well known Roman Catholic boarding school. The school's Chapel of Our Lady features the Jose M. Ferrer Memorial Carillon.

New Milford is located on the northeastern shore of Lake Candlewood. The Aspetuck River, Still River and Housatonic River flow through the town.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 63.7 square miles (165.0 km²), making it the largest town in Connecticut. 61.6 square miles (159.5 km²) of it is land and 2.1 square miles (5.5 km²) of it (3.31%) is water.
