is a city located in central Pinellas County, Florida. The population was 45,658 at the 2000 census. As of 2004, the population recorded by the U.S. Census Bureau is 47,166 . The city was founded by Philadelphia publisher, F. A. Davis, who purchased of Hamilton Disston's land around 1911.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 38.7 km² (14.9 mi²). 38.2 km² (14.8 mi²) of it is land and 0.5 km² (0.2 mi²) of it (1.27%) is water.
