is a city in Bartow County, Georgia, in the United States. It was named after Col. Farish Carter. As of the 2000 census, the city population was 15,925. Growth is evident as the community's population rose to 21,274 as of the 2005 mid-census estimate. Cartersville could become a micropolitan area in the near future.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 23.5 square miles (60.9 km²), of which, 23.4 square miles (60.6 km²) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.3 km²) of it (0.51%) is water.
