Update
is a city in Washington County, Idaho, United States. The population was 176 at the 2000 census.
Midvale is the hometown of former U.S. Senator, Larry Craig.
The exact dates are unknown, but Midvale, in the early 1900s, was a much larger town than it is today. Back then travel was not as easy or convenient, and places like Midvale (originally called Middle Valley) were self sufficient.
They had a couple of markets stores, and dentists office, even a silent movie theater. This all went up in smoke one night as a man who owned most of the office buildings in town burned them for insurance. The town never did full recover from this. As of 2005 Midvale no longer has a restaurant or gas station service of any kind. The bar is open with Karaoke on Saturday nights right next to the US Post Office. Overall, Midvale represents a lot the small, modern day "Western" towns...A town with a rich and interesting past and an uncertain future. The town is the world headquarters for Meyer Industries, maker of the Rodenator Pro. Speaker of the Idaho House of Representatives Lawrence Denney is from Midvale.
