is a city in Kootenai County, Idaho, United States near the Idaho state line between Spokane, Washington, and Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. The population was 17,247 at the 2000 census (2008 Population est. is 25,137).
Post Falls is named for Frederick Post, who located there in 1871 to construct a sawmill along the Spokane River. The park bordering the Spokane River is called Q'emlin'Park - meaning "throat of the river".
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 9.7 square miles (25.1 km²), of which, 9.7 square miles (25.0 km²) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.1 km²) of it (0.52%) is water.
