is a village in Madison County, Illinois, near the mouth of the Missouri River. The population was 1,545 at the 2000 census. Lewis and Clark spent the winter of 1803-1804 here, near what has been designated the Lewis and Clark State Historic Site.

The village is located approximately 15 miles north of downtown St. Louis, Missouri on the Mississippi River. The confluence of the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers is just south of the village limits while the confluence of the Illinois and Mississippi Rivers is approximately 35 miles upstream.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 3.9 square miles (10.1 km²), of which, 3.9 square miles (10.1 km²) of it is land and 0.26% is water.
