is a town in Lincoln County, Maine, United States. The population was 684 at the 2000 census. It includes the villages of Southport, West Southport, Cape Newagen, and Squirrel Island.
Cape Newagen, at the southern tip of the island, was an early European fishing outpost. Southport was part of Boothbay, Maine until it separated on February 12, 1842. Originally called Townsend after Lord Townsend, the name was changed to Southport in 1850.
