is a village in Oakland County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The village is within Brandon Township, although some development near the village lies within adjacent Groveland Township. The population was 1,535 at the 2000 census.

According to the census of 2000 the population in town is 1,535, but Brandon Township is 14,765. Nearby Groveland Township is 6,150. In spite of urban sprawl, Ortonville has a small town Midwest feel with hard working "folks." It offers festivals and parades happening in downtown several times in summer months. There are lovely places for camping, fishing, and hiking.
People from Michigan will often hold up their right hand as a "mitten map" of Michigan and point to show where in they have lived. For people more familiar with the region locals say Ortonville is close to "Pine Knob," now renamed DTE Energy Music Theatre.
Surrounding towns include Goodrich to the north, Oxford to the east, Clarkston to the south, and Holly to the west.
