According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 4.2 square miles (11.0 km²), of which, 4.1 square miles (10.5 km²) of it is land and 0.2 square miles (0.5 km²) of it (4.47%) is water.
U.S. Highway 169 and Minnesota State Highway 25 are two of the main routes in the community.
