U.S. Route 10, County Highway 10, and Interstate Highway 35W are three of the main arterial routes in the city.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 4.1 square miles (10.7 km²), of which, 4.1 square miles (10.6 km²) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km²) of it (0.48%) is water. Rice Creek flows through the southeastern part of the city.
