With a population of 11,146 at the 2000 census growing to an estimated 16,000 in 2007, Raymore is the one of the fastest growing cities in the state of Missouri. It is a suburb of choice for many people that make the daily commute to Metropolitan Kansas City.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 17.1 square miles (44.3 km²), of which, 17.0 square miles (44.0 km²) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.3 km²) of it (0.64%) is water.
