According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 36.9 square miles (95.5 km²), of which, 36.8 square miles (95.2 km²) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.3 km²) of it (0.27%) is water.
The Southern Tier Expressway (Interstate 86 and New York State Route 17) passes across the northern part of the town. US Route 62 and New York State Route 394 pass through the town.
