Update
is a suburban neighborhood in Queens. The neighborhood is on the Nassau County, New York - Queens border and is part of Queens Community Board 13.
Rosedale was originally conceived in the consolidation of the borough of Queens. Originally part of what is now Springfield Gardens. At the time Laurelton Land Company was in charge of the goings in the new Queens Borough. Dotted with farmland isolated from each other transportation was started immediately. The Long Island Rail was being built and the whole area of Rosedale, Springfield Gardens, and Laurelton, were served by the Laurelton station. The area was also connected to the Brooklyn water works system as time passed the use of the system was less needed. Today the ruins of the aqueduct system can still be seen. After the Long Island Rail Road many roads such as Francis Lewis boulevard and Sunrise boulevard were constructed. The area that is now Rosedale continued as farmland until the mid 1930s after this period of slow growth ,development turned Rosedale in a suburban community. Recently Rosedale's many one family homes are being converted to multifamily homes, due mostly from the influx of Caribbean immigrants.
