is a city in Brazoria County within the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2000 U.S. Census, the city population was 2,787. Brazoria is part of the Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown Metropolitan Area, although Brazoria is considered to be rural.
Brazoria was originally founded as a port for Stephen F. Austin's colony.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.9 square miles (4.8 km²), all of it land.
