is a city in Rusk County, Texas, United States. The population was 11,273 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Rusk County. Henderson is named for James Pinckney Henderson, the first governor of the state of Texas.
Henderson is the home of the Texas Baptist Institute and Seminary, a Missionary Baptist institution.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 12.0 square miles (31.1 km²), of which, 11.9 square miles (30.8 km²) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.3 km²) of it (0.92%) is water.
