is a city in Hardin County, Texas, United States. The population was 8,731 at the 2000 census. Lumberton is home of Village Creek State Park. It is part of the Beaumont–Port Arthur Metropolitan Statistical Area.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 9.4 square miles (24.3 km²), all of it land.
The Eastex Freeway (comprising State Highways 69, 96, and US 287) runs north from Beaumont into Lumberton and splits into two separate highways to the West and the East in the South part of the town, both running North and South. The two highways run parallel through the city with Hwy. 96 in the Eastern portion of the city and HWY 69 and US 287 in the Western portion. The two highways house the majority of the commercial development on the city. Lumberton is considered a "bedroom" community, one of the fastest growing towns in Texas. It has many beautiful subdivisions, and an excellent school district.
