Update
is a city in Utah County, Utah, United States. The population was 3,094 at the 2000 census, and was estimated to be 8,957 in 2007. The city began growing rapidly during the 1990s, with the largest growth rate percentage-wise of any municipality in the state. It is located east of Alpine and Highland on the slopes of Mount Timpanogos. Wal-Mart recently built a new store in Cedar Hills that opened in March 2009. There was a dispute in the town over whether stores should open on Sunday, and if alcohol should be allowed to be sold, due to an extremely large majority of the city's residents being members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but it was resolved in a 2005 referendum that approved the City Council's decision to allow stores to open on Sunday and to sell beer. The Wal-Mart currently remains open on Sundays and sells beer. Although Cedar Hills was a town in 2000, it has since been classified as a fifth-class city by state law.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 5.1 km² (2.0 mi²), all land.
