is a city in Davis County, Utah, United States. It is part of the Ogden–Clearfield, Utah Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city is named after Christopher Layton, a Mormon colonizer and leader. The population was 58,474 at the 2000 census.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 20.8 square miles (54.0 km²), of which, 20.7 square miles (53.6 km²) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.3 km²) of it (0.62%) is water.
