Easy-to-maintain sanctuary in the woods of ski country or ready-to-move-in first house, take your pick this simple but unique home is a special place. Follow a quarter mile long, town-maintained, dead end road (shared only with an infrequently used seasonal camp) to a beautiful two acres surrounded by hundreds, if not thousands, of acres of undeveloped forestland, streams and beaver ponds. A well kept lawn with a 10 x 10 storage shed, blueberry bushes and perennial gardens surrounds the two-bedroom, 1,039 square foot home that has been almost completely updated in the past few years. All new kitchen appliances, fresh paint inside and out, durable and easy-to-keep flooring, remodeled bathroom, and new lighting throughout are just some of the renovations in the past two years. The mudroom/laundry addition was built in 2008 and brings all your living needs to one floor; with great storage and an energy efficient front load washer as highlights. Other features of note are a full length screen porch to greatly increase your living space during the warm months and a newly installed wood stove with a custom slate hearth that keeps the home toasty warm the rest of the year. In the basement there is built-in storage, a chest freezer, a workshop, and a propane hot water heater and forced hot air furnace that are less than ten years old.
We are sad to let go, but we ve bought some land in Chester to build on so we must.

Andover shares its 05143 zip code with Chester, along with many amenities and municipal services; such as schools, fire, ambulance, a public pool, a library, shopping and restaurants. However, it very much maintains all the charms of a friendly town with a population around 500; such as a potluck Saturday Town Meeting, the famous Andover Chicken Pie Supper, and Andover residents can still rent the whole town hall for a day for $25 (great for kids birthday parties!). The village of Weston is just three miles away; with the Weston Playhouse Theater, the Vermont Country Store, the Weston Marketplace for groceries and gas, and The Little School (a highly regarded preschool to which our little ones attend). Okemo Mountain Resort and the amenities of Ludlow are only 10 miles away. Magic Mountain and Londonderry are even closer. Both Stratton and Bromley are about a half hour +/- away and within 45 minutes you can be indulging in the shops of Manchester.
