is a city in Jefferson County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 4,843 at the 2000 census. The city is located partially within the Town of Lake Mills.
Lake Mills, originally called Tyranena from the indigenous name meaning "sparkling waters," is located on the outlet of Rock Creek from Rock Lake. The water power supplied by water pouring from the lake into the creek was first utilized by a sawmill and then grist mill built by founder Joseph Keyes, hence the name.
